I have spent many years facilitating ceremonies in both Auckland and in Rotorua, am confident and keen to work with you, and the local community to provide professional and sensitive services to ensure you have the services you want. I am a friendly, skilled celebrant who will make certain your event is as perfect as possible to create the precious memories of that unique day for you.
I have worked as a nurse for many years as a caring and empathetic professional. I moved back to Rotorua in 2019 to a slower and more enjoyable lifestyle. I am a Justice of the Peace which has given me invaluable experience and knowledge of the legal system. I look forward to your enquiries, and to facilitate your next big event!
I am a member of the Celebrants Association of New Zealand Inc. www.celebrantsaotearoa.co.nz and am proud to say I adhere to their standards, Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct in all the ceremonies I perform.
Weddings
Two people unite in marriage or a similar institution. Most wedding ceremonies involve an exchange of wedding vows by the couple, presentation of ring(s), and a public proclamation of marriage by a registered celebrant. My role as a registered celebrant, is to ensure the ceremony is exactly what you want, where you want, choosing to spend your special day with those people who are important to you, and to perform it competently and efficiently.
Civil Unions
Two people have their relationship solemnised as a civil union (by way of a formal ceremony) and officially registered in New Zealand. A Civil Union may be entered into by couples of the same sex or by couples of different sexes and involves an exchange of vows, presentation of rings or similar, and a proclamation to those present. My role as a Civil Union celebrant is to ensure the ceremony is exactly what you want, and to perform it ably and professionally, ensuring you and your partner have the best day possible, and to celebrate it with the people who mean the most to you both.
Renewal of Vows
Is a ceremony in which a married couple renews or reaffirms their vows. Some couples may re-solemnize their ceremony to celebrate the wedding day they never had. Some couples may renew their vows after having passed through a difficult time in their relationship, or to celebrate an important anniversary. I see my role as facilitating a ceremony that most meets the needs of the couple, competently and proficiently, so that it expresses the reasons you have chosen to reaffirm your love for each other, in front of those you care most about.
Naming Ceremony
Used to express their joy in their child, welcoming into the family, relatives and friends, establishing their individual identity, expressing their hopes for his or her future. The child’s family can formally welcome them with due thought, happiness, love and joy. This ceremony can be performed at any age of the child’s life, and I am always delighted to assist with a ceremony for families for this joyous occasion.
Funeral
Funerals celebrate and remember the life of a person who has died. I am able to assist the family of the deceased person to prepare for and celebrate the life of their loved one. I offer a dignified alternative to the traditional religious funeral service, and can personally tailor the ceremonies to each individual situation, with the wishes of the family taken fully into account.
